Home Made Rack in the basement
From the top: Cisco 1400 ATM Router, 2KVA UPS, Cheap GBit Switch, 24P HP Switch, ADSL Modem, 486/Floppy-Firewall, 1U P3-800/256MB Hot Standby/Development, 1U P3-800/256MB Network Services/Dev, 4U P4-2.4/512MB File/Data/Dev. 300GB File/Print Server outside.

Note added Dec 2007 - the list/picture above is way outdated, I usually have 3 or 4 servers running in the basement for testing, Asterisk, storage, MythTV and so forth, just dont have any updated pictures, and the setup changes quite often... The only thing I dont have is a nice storage system, iSCSI system with SAS drives and a few nic's, crapload of ram - if someone like to donate, feel free :) My dual Xeon 3Ghz with 4GB of ram is aging, and It doesnt have the intel v-tech stuff, so I'll trade you if you like!!!

The (messy) basement
The Basement - pretty messy I guess

Here is my current system.

Public Open Source Stuff:

  • Sauen Zupdate - A small PHP Script useful to update USA State abreviations from zip codes (most useful for those poor people who still use osCommerce).
  • OLD: Sauen PHP Surepay Lib - A PHP classs for merchant gateway interaction with the Surepay Legacy interface (XML), handles Credit Card and TeleCheck transactions (Auth). GPL Licensed.

This page markup was crafted with vIM, and should be vieable with any browser and platform that complies with common standards, such as FireFox/IceWeasel/Mozilla Etc, Konqueror, Opera, W3M, Lynx, Links, Netscape, Etct. (Although Cell Phones and narrow view will wrap a lot). I highly recommend Mozilla FireFox or another Mozilla Derivative, it is the worlds most standard compliant browser and exists for most OS and Desktop platforms. And a very good reason for NOT using Microsoft Internet Explorer is that it is used by most Windows users, and therefor is most attacked by crackers, script kiddies and virus developers.

I no longer recommend a specific Instant Messaging program to use, myself I don't use any, the closest I come is that I use Gmail, and it has the chat feature built right in. I recommend staying away from AIM, MSN and ICQ. Steve Balmer Suck.
